Plumbing FAQs
What should I do about a burst pipe before you arrive?
- Turn the water off at the internal stop tap, usually under the kitchen sink, then open the cold taps to drain the pipework. If water is near electrics, switch the affected circuit off at the consumer unit.
Can you fix a dripping tap or does it need replacing?
- Many taps only need a new washer or ceramic cartridge, which is far cheaper than a replacement. If the body is corroded or spares are no longer available, we will price up a like-for-like new tap.
Do you work on hot water cylinders and immersion heaters?
- Yes. We replace immersion elements and thermostats, fault-find on unvented cylinders and can advise when a tired cylinder is worth replacing rather than repairing again.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
- We quote on the job rather than surprising you afterwards. You will know the charge before we book the visit, and if extra parts are needed we agree the cost with you first.
