Central heating repair FAQs
Why is one radiator cold when the others are hot?
- Usually trapped air at the top or sludge at the bottom. If bleeding does not fix it and the bottom of the radiator stays cool, the radiator or system needs cleaning, or the lockshield valve needs rebalancing.
Why is my heating hot upstairs but cold downstairs?
- That points to a failing pump, a sticking diverter or zone valve, or a badly balanced system. We test the pump output and valve operation to identify which before replacing anything.
Can you fix a leaking radiator valve?
- Yes. Most weeping valves can be repacked or replaced without draining the whole system. If the radiator itself has corroded through, we can supply and fit a like-for-like replacement.
Do you fit smart thermostats and controls?
- We install and repair conventional programmers, wireless room stats, thermostatic radiator valves and smart controls such as Hive and Nest, and we will set them up before we leave.
